Here’s a simple question: should a lady be wearing a watch? According to 19th century philosopher Charles d’Ancremont: “A lady should never be able to tell the time. Otherwise it would seem like she is in a hurry.” Modern day ladies love their watches though and we should not forget that the very first wrist watch was designed for a woman. At the beginning of the 20th century men did not wear wrist watches because it would make them look too feminine. We picked our favorite five women’s watches to show how broad the range of feminine watches is. And yes, we are aware of the trend to put huge masculine watches on women’s wrists, and we like it.
